Within nowEDC it is possible to run batch validation as well as schedule it for the future. You can even have it run reoccurringly.
First, ensure you're in the correct user group that has access to Batch Validation. In the below example, we will be performing the batch validation process using the CDM role. If you're not already in the Batch Validation module, click the current module that you're in at the top right of the application and then click Batch Validation
You will be presented with 2 options;
- Run this task on all patients in the study
- Run this task on one or more specific patients
Run this task on all patients in the study will run the batch validation process over every patient in the study and will include any person who is added into the study at a later date throughout the study.
Run this task on one or more specific patients allows you to manually select which patients you'd like the batch validation process to run over.
Things to note..
Even if you manually select every patient, any patient(s) added to the study at a later date will NOT be included in the future batch validation reports.
The more data you have in a study (patient count, data rules etc.) the longer the batch validation process will take to complete.
Hit the Next button when you have selected the required patients. You will be presented with multiple options
Check the desired options and then click the Next button
On the following page, you will be asked if you'd like to run the task over every validation rule for the study or select the desired rules yourself. If you select Run this task using all validation rules in the study it will use every rule in existence for the study as well as any created in the future. If you select Run this task using one or more validation rules, you can pick and choose which rules are used. Click the Next button once you have selected your desired option.
Please note any rules created after this point will NOT be picked up.
You will then be presented with another 2 options;
- Run this task immediately
- Run this task at a later time
Checking Run this task immediately means the batch validation will run right away allowing you to see the results. Checking Run this task at a later time allows you to select a date and time along with an option to make it run frequently. You can see an example of this below
Once you've selected your desired option, go ahead and click the Next button. You will be asked to provide a Task Name and Task Description. The Task Description is optional.
Once you've entered a Task Name and Task Description, click the Schedule button
If you scheduled the process to run right away you'll see the batch validation start to complete. There's even a handy status bar to allow you to track the status
Instead, if you put the batch validation to run on a scheduled time, you'll be able to see this instead
